Major Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
