A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
